2A  12/13/2017 5:07:12 AM score: 0    hide

Whats new in the world of 2a? What teams are on the rise? I noticed the North has certified a bunch of kids respectively for their teams. Can one of those teams muster enough points to get a trophy by Feb? Is this another District 6 dominated year?

Ririe is still good with a large team especially for a 2A school.  But I don't see them with the fire power of the last 3 years.  Graduation has taken a toll.  I have watched them twice and they greatly improved from the beginning of the year to the second time I watched them.  Not one Anderson on the team.  Still some solid kids and they may still win the state tournament but is won't be decided after the first couple rounds.

Salmon has Kesl and a few other tough kids.  Not enough of them to make a run at the state tournament.  I see on Track that Kesl beat Summers of Snake River rather handily.  3-9?  I think.

Challis may have enough horses to make a run.  Bradshaw, Erickson, Bradshaw, Bruno.  If they get some help they might have enough to make a run.

North Fremont as typical in the Coach Clark era has some really good kids but not a team.  Gone are Sharp and Clark from last year so it will be left to the young Sessions, Coordingly and a few others.  Very good kids but not enough horses in the stable to make a run.

Firth is an also ran in wrestling.  Might have a couple qualify for state but not many there.

West J.  Has a big heavy with some skills.  Also a few others that are good.  I was not able to watch them as close as North, Challis, and Ririe so I don't know as many of the kids.  The big red headed heavy looks to be a contender.  Moves well and is strong.

I hear rumblings that Delco could be rising up.  Not sure about Malad, Bear Lake, Soda, and Aberdeen.

I see the 2A race much closer than the previous few.

New Plymouth actually has 5 state finalists coming back (add in Nesbitt) and another state placer, Hsee. Nesbitt must be hurt for now because he hasn't been wrestling so far. This could be their year. The only thing that hurts them is numbers. They definitely have quality kids

I believe it will be New Plymouth's to lose at state but there will be some teams like Ririe, Salmon,Declo and Challis that will push the team standings and make it fun to watch unfold come state tourney time.

I have a problem with rank not even having Ririe in the list.  You know they will have some kids move through.  Tanner Smith, Rustin Rinderkindect should place.  There are some Thacker kids as well.  I know that they will be down from the previous few years.  Looking at last years state tournament New Plymouth should be really solid.

With 2A it seems there are enough good kids to keep the team race spread out.  I am excited to see the race unfold.

Yeah, depth could be New Plymouth's demise. Where is Burke from Valley? I have noticed a few prominent names in 2a that are no where to be found.

I see that Moon from Ririe is injured, any detail to that? Cahl Williams from Salmon is no where to be found nor is Dizes from Challis. Nesbitt from New Plymouth is also a head scratcher.
