2023 Football Predictions

I am only familiar with East Idaho. I think Rigby has to be a solid favorite again in 5A, What about 4A? Skyline again, Shelley? 3A Sugar reloads but Teton is right there, 2A not sure, West Side always tough, does BL have a solid core returning, Firth loses a few kids, North Fremont reloads? 1A is Butte a favorite or Grace? Just trying to get a conversation going.

Minico and Twin should be good in d4 4a, bk might as well. Cr and Burley dark horses. I don’t think Jerome or Mountain Home will do much. Wr petitioned down to 3a and got clobbered in playoffs. Gooding lost a lot of talent will they rebuild?

kimberly and Buhl how will they do? Declo and Wendell either team could be decent only two teams in Magic Valley as Sun Valley Community School doesn’t field it’s own football team.

Oakley and Raft River will dominate, while Murtaugh and Lighthouse will do ok. Carey will be decent. Glenn’s Ferry and Valley major rebuilding.

1ad2 Dietrich won’t steamroll everyone but should be decent. Camas will be tough. Richfield may be back to varsity. Shoshone I don’t think will do much. I don’t think Castleford or Hansen will do much next year but could win a few games. Hagerman improving.

Kendrick will probably dominate again. Fall enrollment is up at the IDHSAA site. Have to do poor to petition down. Two Twin Falls schools will be at 5a, Hagerman, Council and Kendrick will move up and Castleford and Carey will move down if count stays at or near the same in March.

I agree Minico and Twin Falls are always consistently in the mix, CR and Burley have some talented players that can surprise people. Jerome was young last year but they got a really good coach that might help them improve. Mtn Home is always mediocre so we will see.

Buhl she’s a ton of players specifically almost there whole offense. Kimberly is consistently good and they had some young playmakers that are coming back. Filer also had young players that had huge impacts but they lose some significant seniors. Gooding is in a rebuild and it will be fun to see how they do. Wood River returns some talent but they’ll be middle of the pack again.

Declo is Declo, they will emerge at the top again and Wendell is losing a lot of seniors but they return a few solid players. Declo returns more though.

1AD1

The best conference in 1AD1, Oakley and Raft River will always be good. Carey returns some talent and so does Murtaugh. I can see Lighthouse making some noise as they return 6 all conference selections which is the most of any team. Glenn’s Ferry and Valley will do their best to cause chaos next year as they’ll be in the middle or the bottom.

1AD2

Dietrich will be good, but not as good. I think Camas will take the conference next year as they return 7 all conference selections. Castleford has two kids returning from all conference but they are losing 5 of their 8 players to graduation. Hansen will be a fun team to watch as they were very young last year with 3 freshman making all conference. Hagerman and Shoshone will lean on their one superstars, (Kendall, Hagerman and Regalado, Shoshone). Richfield will hopefully field a team next year for some extra fun.
