First of all, does anyone still use these boards? Last time I logged in was 2019, and it seems spammers have taken these boards over ever since.
If some of you are still out there or posting somewhere else, please let me know.
I think of the 8 teams in the playoffs, we have 3 strong contenders, Homedale, Sugar, and Weiser.
Homedale has by far the best bid. They are undefeated, with a win over Weiser and even bigger win over 4A Sandpoint. Sainpoint has been knocking out 5A opponents and even almost beat 5A North King, Coeur d'Alene. I think 2 things from this, 1) they underestimated Homedale and 2) Homedale is just that good.
Weiser, has an impressive history over the season too with a big win against Emmett. I thought this was a huge deal as Emmett beat Bishop Kelly and was near the top of 4A ranks until it's upset loss in the first round of the state tourney this week.
Sugars 2 losses come to a 4A caliber state champion team in Utah and to a better then normal, 4A power Shelley. The rest of their schedule is pretty impressive including wins over 4A Preston and Mountain Home, both 4A playoff teams this year.
I dont give Gooding much credit as I dont see many big wins. Then again, I dont know much about 2A Declo or 4A team near them that I just blanked on their name on. They are undefeated, but I'm not seeing any really quality wins there.
Homedale beats South 46-20 in first round and gives Sugar some much needed film on their cross state rival.
Marsh Valley is one of my favorite teams. They got tuns of heart, tough as nails, and don't have an inch of quit in them, however, I think the outcome will be the same as the last 6 years when these two teams meet and Sugar walks away with the win, even if it's a close one. 28-27
Gooding once again shows that there is little to no strength in 3A North League with a dominating 45-14 win over Timberlake. I was cheering for Kellogg this season as I believe they are thw team to change my mind about the North one of these years.
Weiser comes out the gates with a powerful offense but more importantly hold Snake to the big ol' goose egg, with a tight knit defence, 35-0.
