How often does it happen? Are there people that commute or move to a town solely for the schools athletic purposes? How much is hearsay as well. Family barbecue Coach Johnson is inviting eight graders to come to school over here next year. I think most coaches if they see new kids in town go out of there way to make sure they don’t let them practice or say a word until board ok‘s kids playing ball there. If kids want to come to school coaches stay out of there choices until there on the team.
At a class reunion someone full of smoke spouse of classmate said the coach was doing camps and inviting out of district kids to come to school as Freshman and play for them. I was thinking if that was case school could get in big trouble. Someone told me he was full of something besides smoke. I knew some out of district students that went there and most likely for football.
Now I think incoming Freshman that transfer out of district have to write a letter saying coach didn’t contact them. If parent works at school I think kids can play there. But case like that coaches don’t say anything.
I wonder if some kids go live with parent of school with athletic program they like in case of divorce. That’s probably not sole reason. I know of people that commuted to school whose ffa or music program they liked better. Is gas worth it?
Things you hear in corner store or social of course are things you can’t base facts on. Can’t live with Aunt and Uncle or family friend, or commute just to play ball. Hardship clause how many go through. I saw some of meeting on NFHs, that was discussion. Wonder how often that happens. Cousins and friends asking kids to come there. If it is they like the town one thing. I don’t think there is too much undo influence happening. Hopefully not.
