I doubt they will divide Twin and Canyon Ridge again in the foreseeable future. Three Muddle schools there. Twin Falls is border 5a and Canyon Ridge is 5a enrollment. Do to proximity petitioned down. Either go to Treasure Valley or Eastern Idaho. Trips to Rexburg take a long time.
One concern about petitioning down is will it take away a spot from someone in that enrollment. Have poor football and b-ball team but good softball and wrestling. Football only allowed a petition down.
right now Canyon Ridge is dominating in Football, Soccer, and Volleyball. If that is the case I wonder if they will have no choice, barring a division to move up.
Football is played one day a week so no big deal. Alaska, Montana, Dakotas long bus rides way of life. Who heard of the Barrow Whalers. Plane rides in and out expensive.
Soccer, b-ball, wrestling a lot of week night travel. Norm for teams like Salmon and Challis. Castleford barely got to go down for football, Sun Valley Community School turned down 2a to 1 ad2 for volleyball and basketball. Kids there play football at Wood River if they play. Almost made state in b-ball and do go covid couldn’t go. Won sawtooth but didn’t make it in district last year. Always petitioned down from d1 to d2 when they were d 1 enrollment.
I don’t know how goo
is in wrestling. Haven’t had much success in basketball. Spring sports ok. But with there success in fall sports right now may have no choice but to have the comrade of Clark County, Challis, Mackay, Leadore and Salmon when it comes to travel. If Tfhs has 5a enrollment will both have to do samee thing.
