    5A games this week.

I would like everyone's thoughts on the following 5A games this week - I see them as the biggest games this week-

Eagle at Capital - I will defer to the SIC guys on this - but my initial inclination is Capital....

Skyview at Rocky Mountain - Rocky should win this easily, but it has the potential to put up a lot of points....

Madison at Highland - East Championship #1 seed is on the line - I will take Highland.

Eagle and Capital could get sporty, Eagle is fighting for playoffs and it showed last week. Downfall on the O line is they could use some size. I will back Capital.

I’ve got a kid on Rocky so I’m obviously biased here, but it’s a Rocky win. Skyview has racked up some points so they will either do really well against a fast defense or get shut down. I think Rocky’s O is gonna roll some points.

I really am wishing for a Madison win but doubtful they pull it off this week.

CDA scares me... That running back is a beast who doesn’t tackle easily.

Too bad Borah found the injury bug, they were rolling. Interested to see if they get some kids back but I hear the starting QB might not.

Thanks for for letting me watch you guys posts the last couple years, figured it was time to chime in.

Thanks Fishyakker - I am a huge Highland fan and would love to see Highland against Rocky in the championship.... As far as CDA - I think Kale Edwards - the CDA QB is probably the best offensive weapon in the state - he also goes both ways and plays safety on defense.

Eagle-Capital. Should be a great game especially with state seeding on the line. I personally think Ryan Hibbs from Capital is the best QB in the SIC. Capital has really seemed to find their groove. With that being said I believe Eagle will win the game in a thriller. Ben Ford is an incredible duel threat QB, I also really like the Eagle RB. EAGLE was a holding call away from being tied with Rocky last week late in the 4th.

SkyView-Rocky. I really don’t see SkyView keeping this game close. I think it could be pretty much done at halftime. The most interesting part of this game for me is to see how many yards Nick Romano runs for. Rocky wins big.

Madison-Highland. Game of the week in the Gem State. Wish I could drive to Holt for this one. Highland is like trying to beat down a 10,000 pound gorilla when they are in the Mini Dome. Even if they played this game up in Rexburg I believe the Rams would still win by a score. With this game being played in the dome I see the rams winning by 10-14.

Good luck to to all the teams and athletes this week,

what a game between Eagle and Capital. Hats off to both teams. What a performance by the Sophomore sensation Ben Ford. Fun night in downtown Boise.

Missed this earlier in the week. And, yeah, what a game between Eagle and Capital

I do have some thoughts on Skyview vs. Rocky and a couple other ones. Rocky is going to win this one and probably by a large margin. I don't think Skyview will be able to stop them but the most interesting matchup is Skyviews offense vs. a very talented Rocky D. My take is that Skyview should run, run, run. Their back, Crowe, can be pretty punishing and I can see him wearing the D down over time. If they can string even just a few 1st downs together, have a bit of ball control, and keep Rockys O off the field they have a better shot of being close later in the game where they can open it up a bit.

Borah Vs. Centennial. Not many teams go up against a wildcat and Magnuson can run it. Where Mtn. View really didn't know what to expect last week and practiced against multiple offenses Centennial pretty much knows what they are up against and I think will still lose. It is very unfortunate Borah has had a host of injuries and Borah is almost down to a two-man show (no disrespect to all of the players but Magnuson and Bolt are great athletes) but a direct snap running back who can occasionally make pretty decent throws is hard to contain. I don't think this is going to be a blow-out by any means....Centennials QB is pretty darned good.

Mtn. View vs. Meridian. Had to throw my boys team in there :) Meridian runs mostly a version of the veer and while technically a triple threat most of their passes will be a swing to the outside designed to chew game time and keep Mtn. Views offense off the field. Meridian does have a pretty good running back and Mtn. View does need to play assignment especially with the veer and Meridian liking to hide who the ball carrier is. Though against maybe a weaker defense in Borah last week Mtn. View had some monster gains between the tackles and they are primed to keep that going. Like I mentioned last week there has been some shuffling on the O-line and it is leading in the right direction. This could get out of hand early if Mtn. View keeps the mistakes to a minimum.
