The two premier programs in Idaho face of in Northern Idaho this week. This has become a great rivalry. This game features two outstanding offenses. The team that plays the best defense will win this match up.
I think it will be a close game. I give a slight edge to CDA being at home. Highland good too, not sure on how good yet since they have only played one game outside the confines of Holt Arena. A 16 point win on the road against Twin Falls.
OK - I have looked at this in some detail (trying to be objective :)) after all we still need to play the games. Games like this are awesome, because win or lose it does NOT make or break your season, but it provides an AWESOME measuring stick of where your team is. OK I am a huge Highland fan so take this post with a grain of salt.... Highland has the burden of traveling, should be good for them in the long run right?? They are ranked slightly ahead of CDA in the coaches poll, the media poll and the maxpreps rankings. CDA is just in front of Highland in the RRPI (thanks Payton) rankings. CALPreps predicts a slight 27 to 22 Highland win on a neutral field. Home team is usually give a 3 point margin, so it should be fairly close. Yes Highland lost Togai, and CDA lost Yankoff from last year. Just watching part of the Rigby game it appeared that CDA is still in the process of replacing Yankoff. Also, at the beginning of last year when Yankoff was hurt CDA showed some struggles. Highland's defense has looked pretty good this year, even without Tommy as the anchor. These are still two very talented teams. I will not be making the trip north to watch the game (thanks Idahosports for broadcasting it!!!). However, I will go out on a limb and predict a small Highland win. Enjoy the games!!!!
highland got their butts kicked. You could really tell the team that was in shape and the one that wan't. CDA could just drag the Highland tacklers a long.... QB play also went strongly to CDA//
