That is correct. New 5A conference is Highland, Rigby, Madison and Thunder Ridge. 4A is Blackfoot, Shelley, Bonneville, Idaho Falls, Hillcrest and Skyline.
They are still in district 5 but are in Great Basin Conference with all 4A district 4 schools and Mountain Home. For football they play in two separate pods like SIC was doing previously. East pod is Minico, Burley, Century, Pocatello and Preston. West pod is Wood River, Twin Falls, Canyon Ridge, Mountain Home and Jerome.
guntoter, Mountain Home was originally approved to drop to 3A until the schools of that classification petitioned against it. Mountain Home was then allowed to join District 4 as a 4A school instead.
Robert Haworth has been named the head football coach at Cascade. Mark Dodge has been hired at Grace. We are expecting the Lake City hire to be announced soon as well.
Lake City has hired Brian Fulp to be the interim head coach. He was previously the JV head coach and is a graduate of the University of Idaho and Priest River.
Wow! I remember him at Priest River. It doesn't seem that long ago? Very surprised that someone with more experience and a track record wasn't hired for what used to be a prestigious program? I wonder who applied? What, and for how long, does interim mean?
Gerry Hunter is the new head football coach at Rockland according to Michael Guise of the Idaho State Journal. That leaves Deary as the only opening we have not heard anything on yet.
Aaron Booth is out at Watersprings after a year. Chris Strahm is the new head coach. Ryan Kirk will take over Deary. Beyond anything we do not know about, that means every job is now filled.
Thank you for the information.
Preston has a new head football coach: Eric Thorson from Utah.
I thought I heard that when thunder ridge opened, it would drop all of IF schools down to 4A. Is this true and Thunder will remain at 5A now?
That is correct. New 5A conference is Highland, Rigby, Madison and Thunder Ridge. 4A is Blackfoot, Shelley, Bonneville, Idaho Falls, Hillcrest and Skyline.
And Preston, Poky and Centry are now district 4 teams?

I thought Mt Home was dropping to 3A because they are awful. And man does that west pod look weak.
Darrah Eggers is also stepping aside as the Deary head football coach, so the Mustangs will have a new man on the sideline this fall.

Any word on the Lake City coach or who interviewed? Unless I missed it, it's been very quiet up here and practice starts in less than a month.

His bio on the Lake City High School page says he graduated from Priest River in 2009. According to an article from the CDA Press the interim label is for this season, giving him an opportunity to prove himself.
