Can anyone figure out the seeding criteria this year? It is like they didn't even take returning state placers into account. You look at the criteria on track and a lot of it seems to be computer based this year.
Returning state placer is 4th criteria so doesn’t come into play unless criteria 1-3 are tied. That being said I also see some pretty big misses on seeding...not following the established criteria. Not sure how this is possible other than they are re trying to do it all via computer without human input (or only a few people having input to augment the computer. )It is pretty disappointing. Kids should get a fair placement.
It's not of they are tied. It's like a point system from what I understand. We had a kid 2-1 head to head but his lose was at district which is the 3 criteria.
One that is obvious to me is 5A 113. Kid that took 5th at district and had to get in as a wild card gets seeded above the district champion who was 1-1 in head to head with him. Another kid in the same bracket got seeded above his own team mate who he lost to the only time they wrestled an official match this season.
Based on the seeding criteria on the other post. If that is correc? Quimby placed 3rd at state and had no head to heads or common opponents. So based on placing at state 1st-3rd puts him above the second and third seeds at 4a 145lbs. He was supposed to wrestle the poky kid to be a common apponent as the second seed but looks like Ryan was an inj forfeit so the common apponent wouldn’t factor in. Just my observation back at their records and taking the seeding criteria at face value.
Brackets are out on track wrestling
