Help me out here. Max Preps shows Teton as #5 and South as #4 on 10/30. But, the State brackets show Teton as #4 and South as #7.
Am I missing a step in the process? I am excited the Teton kids are still playing and at home, but what did I miss? The top 7 in Max Preps are still in.

I recently came across 3A Brackets and their work looks impressive. If you’re into apparel branding, I’d also suggest exploring satin printed labels for clothing. They’re soft, durable, and give garments a premium touch without irritating the skin. Satin labels are great for care instructions, brand names, or size details, making them both functional and stylish. A smart choice for anyone wanting professional-quality finishing on clothing items.
Y2Mate has been a game changer for me! I’ve been using it to download my favorite YouTube videos and convert them to MP3 for offline listening during commutes. It's super fast, easy to use, and doesn't require any software installation. The best part? No watermarks or annoying ads. Highly recommended if you want a reliable YouTube to MP3 or MP4 downloader!
I've heard that the MaxPreps Algorithm factors wins or losses by 15+ points heavily. Both South and Teton played Marsh Valley. South lost 41-21, while Teton won a 41-40 shootout, and then followed that up with a 56-14 drubbing. Plus, they both played Snake River. South lost by 10, and Teton won by 27, along with whatever other shenanigans factored in that are probably cancelling out the fact that South owns the head-to-head matchup.
Regardless of rankings, however, 3A outside of Sugar and Homedale has felt like a giant crapshoot all season. It wouldn't completely shock me to see Bonners Ferry and Teton making the semifinals, and neither team has been relevant for 20 years. In fact, the only game I feel 100 percent confident in the outcome is Sugar-Fruitland. As much as I'd love to see Fruitland pull off the upset, I don't see any 3A team coming within 14 points of Sugar, and that's not discounting the other 7 teams. It's 2002 Snake River, or 2012 Shelley all over again.
Still wonder why there is such a difference in rankings on the state bracket as compared to Max preps? Isn't the State bracket based on Max Preps rankings?
Following Max Preps rankings, South would host Teton at the 4/5 rank game in the same bracket as Sugar. Did ranking get fudged to break up the Mountain River Conference??
